Ways to make a donation
We are using a platform with industry standard security and encryption.
If you are UK tax payer, please consider adding gift aid to your donation.
This has the important advantage of helping us to plan and budget for the coming year with more certainty. Registering for Gift Aid adds a valuable extra 25% to your gift. The best way to do this is through the Church of England’s Parish Giving Scheme. Please click here to find out more about the Parish Giving Scheme.
Envelopes for cash gifts are available. Please feel free to drop this envelope (available in the pews of St Mary’s Church) into the basket during the offering time of the service, filling in the Gift Aid information if you are a UK tax payer. This is a valuable resource for us, worth an extra 25% of your donation.
Cheques should be made out to “Denham PCC” and may be placed in the basket during offering time without an envelope. You can also post your donation directly to the Church Office.
If you would like to make a donation via Bank Transfer, you can send it to

Why does the Church ask for donations?
Your donations fund the ministry of Denham Parish Church. We receive no other income and are completely dependent on the generosity of the Denham Church family. Ministry costs include staff costs, building running and maintenance costs and the day to day funding of our community ministries. Following God’s call on us to support the vulnerable, Denham Church also gives to a range of missions in the UK and abroad. Please see the Annual report for details.
What is the biblical basis for giving?
We can see clearly in the bible that God encourages us to give to support kingdom work. Everything we have is a gift from God and giving is an act of trust that expresses our gratitude for what God is doing in our lives and our commitment to loving and helping others. Giving may initially seem hard but can quickly become a joy, because as we give to God so He gives back to us in extraordinary ways.
Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 1 Chronicles 29:14
How much should I give?
How much you give is a matter for your personal and prayerful reflection.
Each person should give what they have decided in their heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Our giving should reflect not only our willingness to give, but also our ability to give; since individual circumstances differ significantly, so will our individual gifts. A starting point when reflecting on our Christian giving is that when giving to others, we should give in proportion to what we ourselves receive from God i.e. in proportion to our income. This practice of tithing has Biblical origins and the “tithe” literally means a tenth.
For some time, the Church of England General Synod has encouraged us as Christians to review our giving annually and to give a proportion of our income. The initial target suggested by General Synod is 5% of post-tax income to and through the church and a similar amount to other kingdom building charities.
You can choose to calculate your proportionate giving on pre-tax, post-tax or disposable income but do whatever feels right for you.
What is the best way to give money?
We gladly accept whatever method is most convenient to you. Online bank transfer, cheque or cash carry the lowest processing fees. Regular giving via the Parish Giving Scheme helps us to better plan and budget for the coming year.
How is my donation used?
Your donations fund the ministry of Denham Parish Church. Please see the Annual report for details.
Can I use the gift aid scheme for regular and one off donations?
Yes, as long as you are a UK tax payer you can give using the gift-aid scheme. Once you have registered as a gift-aid giver you do not have to do so again. To register for the first time, please contact our church office.
Who knows how much I give?
Only the Treasurer has this information. Staff members do not receive any information about individual givers.
