A full peal of bells for Coronation Year
Today (Thursday 16 November) we are privileged to have a visiting band of bellringers ring a full peal on St Mary’s bells, the first since 2017, to mark Coronation year, delayed to include a former member of the band visiting from Australia. It started around 10.30 am and will last about 3 hours. Our bells are highly regarded in ringing circles and the band includes members who ring at St Paul’s Cathedral, so this will show off the bells at their best. To avoid distracting the ringers the church will not be open, but we hope you will enjoy the sound around the village.
