Prayers for today Friday 29th January
As we pass the terrible landmark of 100,000 Covid-related deaths across the UK, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting the nation to pray.
Each person who has died was known and cherished by God.
Mr Welby and Mr Cottrell called on people to join in a “prayer for the nation” at 6pm every day from 1st February.

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39.
*THE STILLED STORMS:* There are several tempests that confronts us in life at every turn — spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, financially, etc. Realistically there are times when we are scared like the apostles, though in the boat with the Lord Jesus yet confronted with the storm. Nevertheless, a call through prayers to the only one who has the authority over every storm that rages against us stills the storm. He will not let the will or attacks of the wicked to prevail over you. Therefore in the name of Jesus Christ, consider any storm before you stilled on arrival. I pray that the Father will soothe your doubts, calm your fears, dry your tears and still every storm before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ
Loving God, today we bring before you all grieving nations, tired doctors, exhausted nurses and other frontline workers. Comfort those who mourn. Give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. May they soar on wings like eagles; may they run and not grow weary; may they walk and not grow faint. (Isaiah 40:1, 29, 31)
