Prayers for Friday 7th May 2021

“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”
Hebrews 13:15.
A GIFT BEFITTING THE KING!
Often the most priceless gift we can offer God is not our money – that may be necessary for the ministry and the needy; not our bodies – the sacrifice of Jesus’ body on the cross is more than adequate. Praising God with all our hearts, especially in tough times, is the most precious single act that assures God of our loyalty to Him. Hence, regardless of the situation, let us praise GOD.
Pray that no situation will stop you from praying to God always :
Almighty and ever living God, we thank you for bringing us to the month of May.
The universe and the human inhabited earth are yours. You order our times and seasons. We acknowledge your sovereignty over all things: creation, time and space, matter and immaterial, seen and unseen, etc. You are the all seeing, all knowing and the most powerful God.
Trusting in your loving kindness and unfailing love, we commit the month of May into your able hands.
Lord God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we put our hands into yours this month, guide us, keep us and feed us for we have no help but you. Bless us and make us channels of blessings to others. Give peace in our time; for there’s no other that fights for us but only you O Lord. Anoint our heads with oil and cause our cups to overflow. May your goodness and mercies follow us this month of May and always. We pray in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen

Prayer for Friday 30th April 2021

People of God, prayer is the master key.  So don’t make your prayer life depend on the whims of the moment; make it a regular, daily practice.
Jesus started his earthly ministry with prayer and ended it with prayer.
According to Michael Quoist, ‘God is always present, always loving , and he is waiting for you.’
Blessed are those who mourn for the shall be comforted
Thank you Lord  for the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ who has broken the power of death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
Thank you Lord for your promise that those who mourn will be comforted
Thank you Lord that you are near to the broken hearted, we remember those who mourn but could not be comforted due to the certain circumstances they find themselves
Lord help us to co-labour with heaven in restoring what has been lost on earth.
Lord we know that what breaks our hearts do break yours, we pray that you will use our low moment, our brokenness and our vulnerability to bring us in touch with your heart.
Help us never to suppress our emotions but to released them to you, our great comforter .
Thank you Lord that through the price you paid , burdens are lifted at Calvary and you are always very near in both low and high moments.
We remember India and her Covid challenges, be near them O’ Lord
We remember Denham Parish family, help us to experience personal brokenness that will change our spiritual atmospheres in our community.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers

Prayers Friday 23rd April 2021

As the excitement and euphoria of Easter celebrations wanes and life begins to return to ‘normal’ help us O Lord Jesus to live in the light and reality of your resurrection.
Help us to know that the Maundy Thursday washing of feet is not merely a ceremonial and ritual thing but a command to daily bend down and roll up our sleeves to serve Christ by serving others. Help us to be willing to serve not occasionally but as a way of life.
Help us O Lord to know that the ‘new command to love one another’ is to be a daily practice and a demand to love even the unlovable.  Help us to love even when it is difficult to do so.
Lord as you encountered the two on their way to Emmaus and set their hearts on fire for you, we pray for fresh encounter in our lives today. We pray that the scriptures will come true in our lives again.
We pray for boldness, conviction, renewed faith and power to joyfully live as witnesses to your resurrection today.
Above all, Lord we pray that we’ll know you and the power of your resurrection and to live our lives in that knowledge and power.

Dear risen, ever reigning and soon coming Lord Jesus, thank you for hearing us, for in you name we pray. Amen

Prayers for Friday 9th April 2020

Thank you Lord that your victory over sin and death means new life for us is a reality.
We pray that we may recognise you as you walk through our days and we ask you to disturb our complacency which is blurring our spiritual vision .
We pray for the courage to speak out against injustice and oppression.
We pray that our leaders may establish and uphold right values and sensitive  legislation.
We pray for those of our families and friends who have not yet met you ( please mention their names) that they may be drawn into your company so that they may enjoy your faithfulness and love.
We remember those whose lives are filled with pain, anxiety or sorrow and ask you to come along side them.
With the words of resurrection fresh in our minds, we commend to your eternal love those who have died,  that they may live with you forever. ( please mention the names of those you can remember )
Father May our lips and our lives express our thanks and praise to you for rescuing us and setting us free to live for you.
Risen Lord as you draw near to two of your disciples on the Emmaus Road and at evening stayed with them in their village home , be our own unseen companion along the daily journey of our life and at the ending of the day, come and abide with us in our dwellings for your love’s sake.
Help us Lord our God to hear and obey your call to us, as those who have been raised with Christ, to seek the things that are above where Christ is , seated at your right hand. That our thoughts may be  set on heavenly things, not on things of earth, and we may be partakers of his risen life until we are manifested with him in glory.  We ask these in your name !

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers!!!

Prayer Friday 2nd April 2021

Welcome to the month of April.
We thank God for the new month. We pray that we’ll rejoice and be glad in it. Amen.
As we reflect on the event of the first Maundy Thursday and Good Friday;
 • We pray that we will genuinely love one another as he commanded us on a day like this.
 • We pray for humility to wash other people’s feet and to use our positions to serve them as he taught us rather than demanding to be served
 • We pray that we’ll not betray Him as Judas did on a day like this.
 • We pray that we will not desert and abandon Him as the first disciples did on a day like this.
 • We pray for his mercy , forgiveness and restoration as he graciously granted to Peter on a night like this .
 • We pray for courage to live out our faith faithfully as disciples of Christ and never to deny him in this crooked, evil, idolatrous and perverse generation.
 • We pray that we’ll always be prayerful and watchful as he challenged the disciples to be on that night of his agony at Gethsemane We pray that we will learn the lessons of this season which are sacrifice, humility, hope and salvation.
Lord Jesus as we focus on your betrayal, your agony and your pains on a day like today, we remember that you did  so for us.

Grant us Lord in our little corners today to be bold, courageous, determined, faithful and loyal to your course. Amen 🙏🏾
